Piano lessons

I teach music lessons where students can either study for exams or simply for pleasure. I teach the full age range from children to adults. For exams I usually use the ABRSM examination syllabi and would expect most students to complete an exam grade within two or three terms; this is after beginners have reached a basic level of competence.

Organ Lessons

I teach the organ on two different pathways
1 ) Exams (ABRSM syllabi) and service playing. 2) Service playing only.

Where I teach.

We usually teach piano, organ, singing and musical theatre, sight singing and theory of music in our own equipped studios in York. If you prefer we also offer to travel to your home for piano lessons. With organ lessons I will also visit your venue if you prefer so I can teach you on an instrument with which you are more familiar.

Course Planning.

I undertake to plan an individual scheme of work taking into account the abilities of each student. This is followed up with each lesson is carefully prepared for to ensure a good paced lesson aimed at making a good level of progress during the lesson.
