Piano lessons

I teach music lessons where students can either study for exams or simply for pleasure. I teach the full age range from children to adults. For exams I usually use the ABRSM examination syllabi and would expect most students to complete an exam grade within two or three terms; this is after beginners have reached a basic level of competence.

Organ Lessons

I teach the organ on two different pathways
1 ) Exams (ABRSM syllabi) and service playing. 2) Service playing only.

Where I teach.

I usually teach piano and organ lessons in my own equipped studio in York. Here I can teach both piano and organ lessons in addition to theory. If you prefer I will also travel to your home for piano lessons. With organ lessons I will also visit your venue if you prefer so I can teach you on an instrument with which you are more familiar.

Course Planning.

I undertake to plan an individual scheme of work taking into account the abilities of each student. This is followed up with each lesson is carefully prepared for to ensure a good paced lesson aimed at making a good level of progress during the lesson.
